You know the eco-theme is one thing I really love about Ganesha festival (apart from Modaks :)). NGOs, state govt and even people have been really trying hard to make this festival really environment friendly.

I don’t think there is any other festival that is as eco-conscious as Ganesha festival.

That’s good!

While celebrating the great Ganesha utssab, our country men are taking care of the environmental as well.

Clay is asways good to make the Murthy. Because it can be easily mixed up in the mud of the sea, where the Bisarjan is celebrated with cheers.

In this way unique ways of making the God is also invented.

I appreciate the Ganesha artists.

The Lord always looks great in all attires.

Yes it is a brilliant move. All the Ganesh idols in my locality are environment friendly. I am so happy when I read more and more such news in the paper. All of us are showing drastic changes by caring about the environment. If we continue like this, more and more people will start holding interest in taking care of the environment and use of non-renewable energy will sink down to a gigantic level.

Maharashtra is gearing up to host Ganesh Chaturthi and television actors are doing their bit by promoting eco-friendly idols of the Lord.Young environmentalists and popular television actors got together to organize a workshop to make small eco- friendly Ganesha idols using little grains of sand.

The idea is to bring awareness, because we all know that the plaster of paris which is used for making Ganesha idols is extremely harmful for the marine life. This year has taken more eco-friendly steps than before. Plaster of paris takes longer to dissolve, as also it reduces the oxygen level in water, resulting in the death of marine life. So all this is helping our environment to a massive extent.

Environmentalists have been expressing concern over the immersion of metals and toxic materials in the lake, polluting it year after year. Unlike the traditional mud-made idols, PoP idols do not dissolve in water. Unlike the traditional mud-made idols, PoP idols do not dissolve in water.
