And while you’re sitting there being insufferably self-righteous about how lazy other people are, Nithya, millions of kilowatt-hours of power are being wasted by equipment on standby power. Pushing a bigger problem out of the woodwork? Isn’t pointlessly wasted energy in homes across the world an even bigger problem?

U bet Nithya, instead of supplementing with one or the other kinda power saving devices, it is essential to cultivate green habits like switching off from the main socket. But surrounded by and depending on number of remote controlled gadgets and sleep option-ed gadgets(TV, music player, A/C, microwave.....and many more to name) it is impossible to stick to switching-off habit. And so Standby Saver comes as a savior!

It’s just terminal laziness! It’s not a very difficult habit to cultivate. Whats more, keeping such devices on standby increases their chances of shorting and starting a fire. Happened this morning with the TV so it’s kind of scary! While inventions like these are good on a temporary level its pushing a bigger problem out of the woodwork. For me, this invention is almost at par with that battery operated bicycle :|.
