Dual-flush toilets are a great way to save water around the house. As their name suggests, they give you the option of flushing with either a full tank of water or just half, depending on your need. However, they haven’t been gaining popularity...

Nithya, come to think of it, this should be a standard followed on all flush tanks... Use only the amount of water required.

This certainly should be a standard followed on a regular flush tank, but maybe this one is a benchmark and from now on this technique will be kept in mind. So it’s not a bad deal after all! I also read somewhere about a bathroom sink with an attached lavatory. So every time you wash your hands from the bathroom sink, the water gets stored in the toilet tank and drained when the flush is used. This way one can avoid wastage of water. Both are superb ideas and if more such products become feasible, our woes about wasting water will surely disappear.

Excellent product. We all need this to save water. Not always do we need to flush the tank empty... I will surely buy this for my home :)

Agreed! This is the perfect thing to save water in the bathroom, considering how many times we flush the toilet on a daily basis and how much water goes waste as a result of that.
And I have seen this fixture in some houses in India Manish, so i guess we are making progress slowly but surely :).
